7 places to visit with your dog in Los Angeles
Posted on March 29 2018
Los Angeles is one of the most incredible cities in the world and it is also one of the most dog friendly cities. In general the entire state of California is dog-friendly and in Los Angeles you can find any kind of shops and places where you and your dog will be very happy.
Most hotels in this city accept dogs as long as you pay a deposit and a cleaning fee. When you walk your dog, always do it on a leash unless they allow you to let go. The fines for leaving your dog without a leash are not cheap and can be a bad anecdote of the trip.
Discover and enjoy the Hollywood atmosphere with your pet:
1. The Grove
If shopping is your thing, you can not go to Los Angeles without visiting The Grove. This outdoor shopping center is our favorite place in the city and is very dog friendly. It has fountains, pastures, a tram, incredible stores and with a bit of luck, you're sure to find a celebrity. 189 The Grove Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90036
2. Rosie's Dog Beach
This beach is the only beach in Los Angeles County where your dog can be without a leash. It is important to mention that the only condition for you to do this is that your dog knows how to behave and is not aggressive with other dogs. If as an owner you are not sure that your dog can be controlled, better not take the leash. Rosie's Dog Beach is named after Rosie, a bulldog who was the one who inspired the community to make this beach for dogs. 5000 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803
3. Runyon Canyon
Runyon Canyon is a favorite destination for all those who enjoy hiking in the mountains. This park is located in the Hollywood mountains, just one block from Hollywood Boulevard where all the stars on the floor are. It is also a great place to find a celebrity since Taylor Swift to Justin Timberlake are regular in this place. The best part is that the walk has a part where the dogs can be without a leash and run up the mountain with you. 2000 N Fuller Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046
4. Lake Hollywood Park
If part of your list of things to do in Los Angeles includes the typical photo with the Hollywood sign, the best place to do this is the Hollywood Lake Park which is also a popular destination for owners with their dogs. This is a very small park where officially dogs should be on a leash but all owners who know that their dogs behave well, usually release them to run. Also, you can walk around and get to know Lake Hollywood which is a hidden gem of the city. 3160 Canyon Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90027
5. The Oaks Gourmet
The best sandwiches in the city and those who know that coffee is also spectacular. This little place in Hollywood is very crowded by dog owners and even though dogs can not get into The Oaks, you can tie it outside and the other owners keep an eye on what you ask for. Then you can sit at the bar outside or on the tables and wait for a celebrity to come to buy coffee. You can also take and buy things from your dog or take a bath in Tailwaggers that is right there. 1915 N Bronson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068
6. 3rd Street Promenade
If you also want to be near the sea, take your dog for a walk to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. This is a pedestrian street with shops, music, bars and restaurants that is perfect for the day. When you finish shopping, walk to Santa Monica Pier and watch the sunset.
7. Abbot Kinney
Abbot Kinney is the most beautiful street in Los Angeles. Located near Venice Beach, there are three blocks of stores, restaurants and bars. Our favorite dog shop in town is called The Modern Dog and it's right on Abbott Kinney. Walk for your dog while meeting other owners and their dogs and while shopping for nice things to take home.
