Race history

The creation of the Braque Saint-Germain race  dates back to the 1830s . At that time, pointers and pointers were crossed in the royal kennels of Compiègne and Saint-Germain-en-Laye . It is also from this last commune that the race takes its name . It has enjoyed great popularity with hunters until around the beginning of the last century. The breed club was founded in March 1913. The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) recognized the race of Braque Saint-Germain definitively on December 16, 1954. This dog remains quite uncommon nowadays , since there are only a few dozen births a year.

Physical characteristics

The Braque Saint-Germain is a medium-sized, braccoid-type hunting dog. Built for endurance, it is characterized by a developed and dry musculature. The Braque Saint-Germain is also recognizable by its fawn and white dress and its smooth and regular gallop. His hair: short, without being too thin. Its color:matt white associated with tawny spots. The ears are also tawny. His head:  The skull is slightly domed, ogival-shaped in the back. The occiput is rather prominent, the stop is only slightly accentuated. The truffle is broad and the nostrils well open. Her ears: moderately long, rounded at the end. Their eyes :
