A Bichon Havanese dog is classified as a small dog .
Behavior and character
The Havanese perfectly knows how to use its charm, its affection and its natural gaiety to be appreciated as an excellent pet dog . He is also very alert and particularly attentive, which makes him a very good alert dog . The Havanese is also a partner of games of choice for children, which he will also often tend to enjoy with his clown side.
Thanks to his alertness , his intelligence and his happy temperament , the Havanese Bichon is educated quite easily , especially through the game to which he will always lend himself willingly. As long as he receives a fair education, in mirth and without excessive punishment or treats, the Havanese will be a very pleasant company throughout his life.
Dog robust and generally having a good longevity (about fifteen years on average), the Havanese does not show any particular health problems. However, it is advisable to monitor its patellae , to prevent any risk of dislocation , and its teeth , to avoid scale deposits . These are the main points to pay attention to, as with most small dogs. Care must be taken to spare it from cold and dampness.
Maintenance & Hygiene
The Havanese is subject to a single moult a year , during which it loses only relatively few hairs. Its maintenance should be regular because of the length of its coat , but it is far from being unpleasant, because its dress is soft and simple to handle.
The brushing of the Havanese is daily in order to maintain the cleanliness of his robe . The main thing is to ensure the shine of the hair , the good health of the skin and to avoid the formation of knots. A grooming session may be necessary from time to time, but it is not recommended to cut his hair.
The Havanese needs daily walks . This is the minimum for him, even if he is not especially a great sportsman . He needs above all attention and play.
The Havanese is mainly an indoor dog . He looks for the proximity of his master and his family . The possibility of enjoying an outdoor space where he can evolve freely would not displease him either, especially since it would allow him to fully express his talents as a warning dog.
